Set Up Portal Menu
Estimated Time of Completion:1 hour
When you’re building a new portal, you’ll want to set-up a menu to help people easily navigate between pages.
In deciding what you want in your portal menu, consider the following elements...
Firstly, if you have multiple courses, you’ll probably want a “Courses” or “Library” or something like that where all of the Courses are listed out.
These can have drop-downs too so that they can quickly navigate to the module they want.
Then, you’ll usually have a Home Page they can navigate too. You’ll probably also want to include some form of Facebook Group that links directly to your Facebook Group, an FAQ page and any other Resource pages you might want. So, decide on what you’d like listed in your menu as well as any subcategories you’d like to drop-down.
TO BRIEF YOUR DOER:
- If you're utilising the Project Management Tool; *Basecamp, add this as a task to your project's To Do's
- You'll need to describe the task. We'd recommend 'Set Up a Portal Menu: OCP0026'
- Assign the To Do to your Doer
- Set a Due Date
- Add notes:
- You can provide your Doer with this URL in order to provide them with context on the task
- Provide your Doer with a link to the portal/advise where it can be found (Learndash, ClickFunnels etc)
- List each of the menu options and any dropdown option within each as bullet points
- Add in any other notes or requirements that might be relevant and ensure your Doer has access to your portal for setup
- Don't assume - particularly if you're just starting out with your Doer it's always best to provide as much information as possible. If you have extensive notes, we'd recommend recording a Loom.
